I get questions about Orinda homes for sale every day. Sometimes the question is about a specific home, but lately, I’ve heard this...
Q: Hey Bob, what about these new Orinda homes for sale located south of Highway 24 between the Caldecott Tunnel and the downtown Orinda exit?
A: This is the new Wilder development. So far, as of 6/22/12, there is one house that is pending sale and one house currently on the market for sale. The plan is for 245 homes to be built maximum.
Q: What type of houses are available?
A: Wilder is offering some different options for interested home buyers.
First they have what they're calling the Crafted Collection. The Crafted Collection is a finished home option that features award-winning architecture, expert craftsmanship, beautifully landscaped yards and designer-appointed features and finishes. There are 2 homes in this collection that are finished. 6 Rabble Road is currently for sale, while 22 Rabble Road is pending sale.
Next option is called the Portfolio Homes. These homes are pre-designed and have pre-approved architectural plans. Orinda homes have a unique flavor. The City of Orinda has gone to great lengths to make sure that this unique style isn’t lost, from the iconic Orinda Country Club to the more traditional single-family homes. There are 5 different styles to chose from with choices of different floor plans in 3 of the styles. The styles include; East Bay Arts & Crafts, Orinda Ranch, Bay Area Cottage, Spanish Colonial Revival, and Adobe Ranch.
And finally, you have the Custom Builder Program. In this program, you can work with your own architect and builder to create a custom home. Whether you select a Wilder home design that has been pre-approved by the City of Orinda, or you choose to work with your own architect and builder to create a custom home, all homes built in the Wilder neighborhood will need to conform to the design guidelines and specifications approved by the City of Orinda.
Home sizes from the Crafted Collection and the Portfolio Homes range in size from 2,340 square feet of living space up to 5, 900 square feet.
If you are interested in possibly investing in Orinda's newest neighborhood, contact me and I'll arrange a showing of the grounds. They are requiring that interested parties who desire representation outside of their own sales office (which I recommend) must register their agent's name upon arrival.
More to follow about the Wilder development.
